How My First Dreamcatcher Turned Into a Beautiful Journey
It all started when one of my friend’s mothers was making and selling dreamcatchers. I found them so fascinating and beautiful, delicate webs, soft feathers, and colors that felt magical Being someone who’s always loved arts and crafts, I thought, why not give it a try? I picked up a bangle and some sewing thread, thinking it would be easy. But the pattern kept slipping, and my first few attempts failed miserably.Not one to give up easily, I turned to YouTube tutorials and discovered that I was using the wrong kind of thread. So I went to a nearby shop and got the right one. The next challenge, I didn’t have the rings!
That’s when my uncle came to the rescue. I asked him if he could arrange some, and he made metal rings from scrap in his factory, different sizes, perfectly imperfect. With those, I finally made my first dreamcatcher, and to my surprise, it turned out really well! Soon, making dreamcatchers became my favorite hobby. I made more, just for fun at first, and then thought, why not gift them? When I gifted them to my friends, they absolutely loved them.
A few weeks later, something unexpected happened, friends started placing repeat orders, wanting to gift my dreamcatchers to others. That’s when I realized, this could be more than a hobby, it could be a beautiful small business.As orders started coming in from different places, I even got a big order from a café, they wanted a human-sized dreamcatcher for their décor! With the help of my sister, I made it, our biggest one yet.
